11th Annual PSA Contest Held |

Winners of the 11th annual “Don’t Drink and Drive PSA Contest were announced on April 28th in a ceremony held at the Middlesex County Fire Academy in Sayreville.
High school students from 13 schools throughout Middlesex County produced and submitted 19 30-second videos and six audio tapes that promoted driving safety to their peers.
First place in the video category was awarded to East Brunswick Vocational-Technical High School. Second place was given to Middlesex High School while third place went to the Middlesex County Academy for Science, Mathematics and Engineering Technology.
Top prize in the audio completion went to Piscataway High School. Second place was awarded to East Brunswick Vocational-Technical High School and third place went to Perth Amboy Vocational-Technical High School.
Steven G. Liga, NCADD CEO & Executive Director noted that teens have an important role to play when developing prevention messages for their peers. “They speak the language of their peers to their peers. They know what they like. They know what they like to listen to.”
The annual event was sponsored by the Middlesex County Board of Chosen Freeholders, the New Jersey Division of Highway Traffic Safety, the Center for Alcohol Studies at Rutgers University, the Middlesex County Superintendent of Schools, the Injury Prevention Program and the Level One Trauma Center at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, and NCADD.
